Matcha is made of dried Tencha, tea leaves that have been grown in the shade to develop its flavor profile, and ground up into a fine powder. There are two types of matcha: Culinary and Ceremonial Grades. Ceremonial Grade has a much deeper green color and overall better taste compared to Culinary grade. All of the matcha we offer here are Ceremonial Grade matcha. You may notice that this matcha is "Single Origin", this means that this matcha uses only one variety of tea leaf and can be traced back to one farm within the Uji region of Japan.
